C. Alan Bettis - Instructor of Theatre Arts and Film
C. Alan Bettis began teaching theatre arts over thirty years ago as the youth program director in a community based conservatory theater in Merced. He also served as a teacher on special assignment for the Art Tree program, a service provided by the Multicultural Arts Center of Merced that provides arts instructors for the area schools.
During that time, he was adjunct faculty at Merced College in the communications and theatre departments, instructing in the Acting Lab and speech communications classes.
He joined the Merced Union High School District serving as the instructor of theatre arts at Merced High. He remained at Merced High until a new school was constructed in the district. Mr. Bettis was chosen to pilot the new program at Buhach Colony High School, a position he has maintained since its inception. He is also an adjunct professor at Fresno Pacific University
Beyond his teaching activities, Mr. Bettis can be seen performing with the Merced Academy of Dance, doing voice-over work in the Bay Area, and assisting local theater companies with their productions
